Hear ye, hear ye! It is now officially February and I, RED of Sew RED-y, do hereby declare this to be Fail February!
Let the sewing community come together to proclaim and celebrate our glorious sewing fails! Shout it from the mountain tops! Spread it through the valleys! We are not perfect. Let’s rejoice!
OK maybe I’m getting a little carried away here, but I am ready to make Fail February official! It garnered some interest last year, so let’s DO THIS! I’m even busting out an official logo this year:
So what does this mean, RED? What do I have to do?
It’s simple – post your failed sewing or crafting projects in the spirit of Fail February. Maybe someone else can learn from your mistakes. Maybe we can all feel a little better about those projects that didn’t go right. Maybe we’ll have a good chuckle.
If you decide to also share on Instagram, mark your fails with #failfebruary. I’d like to do an end-of-month roundup of your shared fails. We’ll make it a big fail party! Wait… that sounds kind of sad, but I swear it will be fun! 🙂
I already have two projects of my own to share this month, so stay tuned! Let’s all fail together!
-RED
P.S. I made a button for Fail February! Feel free to grab the code below and share on your blog! (Pssst… it’s my first time even attempting to make an html button so let me know if it either works or it’s a legit fail!)
Ahh! This is a great idea!!

Thank you! I’ve found my niche in the sewing world – and it’s all about failing LOL.

I like this idea. Too many instagrams make everything looks like this is perfect when we all know we have out unpickers out A LOT more than we care to admit! We learn through our failures!

Amen!! I have so many fails under my belt after 5 years and I still make terrible garments here and there… not to mention all the silly mistakes! But yes, it makes us better in the end!

LOL! Oh no! The Fail has found you! I’m glad your blouse is salvageable but unpicking certainly is a pain!

Failing is part of the creative process! Or a sign that you need more caffeine… Either way, this will be so fun!

I adore this so much, and now there’s a logo?!? Brilliant. I haven’t got any FAILS lurking about, but I have a bad feeling about the thing I’m working on right now, haha! Maybe I’ll be able to participate. 😉

There’s always next year if your fail turns into a win! I get worried that I won’t make any fails one year and I won’t have anything to share, but then I’m like…. WHO AM I KIDDING?? I will always fail! Well, here and there at least 😉

LOL yes, fails are basically guaranteed in sewing, aren’t they? I need to remember to save mine for February from now on–they happen, but I banish them from my sight pretty fast! 😉
