True Bias Hudson Pants: The Spring Edition

Happy Day-After-Easter, everyone! I trust you all had a good holiday (or if you don’t celebrate, a good weekend). My weekend was pretty awesome as DD’s family was in town for his nephew’s wedding that happened Saturday night. It was all good times and we gained some pretty cool new family members. So Easter was spent recuperating from the wedding fun and chilling out.

Oh, and thanks to all of your comments in my “SPRING IS HERE! Dress” post. I decided to wear the fun Asian dress (#3) to the rehearsal dinner and the super girly spring dress (#1) to the wedding. I’m glad I wore the stretchier scuba knit dress to the wedding because there was some crazy dancing happening!

I had some of the scuba knit fabric left over, so I made another pair of True Bias Hudson Pants. (Check out my first pair here.)

IMG_5341And check out my shirt! I had to jump on the bandwagon and get a couple of sewing themed t-shirts from Uniqlo.com. I have a soft spot in my heart for Uniqlo because that was the only place I could buy pants that fit my frame while I was living in Japan. Hooray for 外人(gaijin=foreigner) sizing! They have some pretty spiffy graphic t-shirts for both guys and girls, so go check them out.

IMG_5342I made a size 12 and added 1 inch to the length as my last pants were a bit short. I’m kind of a tall gal (5′ 7.5″) so this adjustment worked pretty well.

IMG_5345That big, dark flower right by my crotch has me thinking I should have paid a little more attention to the pattern placement… or am I too paranoid? No, probably not – that looks kind of bad, LOL.

IMG_5347The fabric is not too drapey, so it makes me look a little poofier than intended. It’s no big deal as I wear these as pajama/lounge pants anyway. They’re crazy comfortable and crazy cute, in my opinion. If I’m going to laze around the house, better do it stylishly! 🙂

In case you were wondering, yes, those ARE cats on my shoes.

IMG_5351The shoes are from ModCloth.com. They keep posting all kinds of cat clothes and accessories and it’s killing me because I want to BUY ALL THE CAT THINGS. At least I can sneak these shoes into my work wardrobe because they just look like polka dots from a distance. I’m such a grown-up, I know.

So that’s about it for this week. I’ll throw in a thumbs-up outtake as a treat for you since you’ve made it this far. ‘Til next time!

    1. Yeah, I guess it would be worse if it was lower and more centered… LOL, oh lawdy! I guess I could make it out of the house in this outfit and no one would know these are really my PJs? Ha!

  1. I totally want to make these pants and wear them in public! They look super comfy and stylish. I didn’t notice your crotch flower until you pointed it out, and then I couldn’t stop laughing because I’m slap happy from no sleep. So, you have successfully inspired me and made me laugh. Thank you.

    1. Thank you! I honestly would not have thought to use the fabric this way until I saw a pin of cute flowery pants like this from Anthropologie and they were so cute! I’m happy you’re inspired and think my crotch flower is funny, LOL. Good luck trying to sleep – I know having a new little one does that to people (or, like me, having obnoxious animals that wake up waayyyy earlier than you do). 😉

    1. Thank you! Yes, the print fabric is a “scuba knit.” The weight is like a ponte, but it’s a lot stretchier and has very good recovery. It’s super easy to sew – no slipping around! 🙂

I can’t resist a good pair of cat shoes, lol!
